Suspention clamp are used to hang conductor or ground wire through insulator of link fitting to tower arms or substation structures. The clamp are made of malleable iron or aluminum alloy. The suspension angle of suspension clamps is not less than 25 degree, the redius of curve is not less than 8 times the diameter of the installed leads. The percentage of the grip on different kinds of leads to the calculating capicity of snap meets the international standard.

What is Suspension Clamp
The suspention clamp is a kind of overhead line conductors. There are also two types of suspension hardware, including tension fittings and limited grip hardware. The suspension clamp hangs or supports the conductors, primarily bearing the vertical load hardware.
The Function of Suspension Clamp
The suspension clamp is used on overhead lines or substations. They can hang the conductors or arresters on the insulators or hang the arresters on the tower by the connectors. It also used for fixing and supporting the conductor and non-linear rod on the pole.
Type of Suspension Clamp
There are numorous kinds of suspension clamps. They can be classified in different method. Here are three method to classify them. Here we will introduce three ways to classify them.
Firstly, some of the abbreviations as follow: C(X)—suspension clamp, G– fixed, S—double clamp, U—U shaped screw, J—strenghthened, H—Aluminum Alloey, F—anti-corona, K—carried up type, T—carry bag type, A—with socket clevis eye, B—with U-shaped clevis, X—hang-down type.
Classified by the structure of the suspension clamp
CGU suspension clamp
CGU suspension clamp is als called general type suspension clamp. The fixed u-shaped screw suspension clamp(CGU) can be costomized. All specifications are avaliable with the drawings porvided. All the products meets the international standards.
The materials: Clamp and plate–forging iron; Closed pin–stainless steel; spare parts–steel
Suspension Clamp with U-shaped Plate
Main usage and feature
The diameter of the wire clip slot is large, when it is used for large section steel-cored alumimum conductors or conductors wrapped with pre-twisted wire sheathed grommets. If you use the common hanging plate, it is easy to cause deformation. These are the two reasons the U-shaped hanging plate is added to the upper end of the wire hanging plate. Due to such a combinaton, the bending movement of the hanging plate is reduced, and also change the direction.
Suspension clamp with socket clevis eye
Componants and materials
The socket and the socket are made of forging iron
The endfittings are stainless steel
Other mateirals is steel
All the componants are hot-dip galvanized zinc and are corrusion resistent.
Strenghthen suspension clamp—CGJ Type
Here are some main features:
Clamps have high vertical devastating load;
The cable will not get out of the clamp even in the condition of unblanced icing on adjacent gears. This means the clmaps may have enough tensile strenghth;
For the clip of the lightning conductor, the grip strength should be no less than 25% of the rated tensile strength of the steel strand, and the grip of the clip for the steel core aluminum stranded wire should be no less than 30% of the rated tensile strength of the wire.
Anticorona suspension clamp— CFG Type
It is used for 330kv—500kv transmission line or high altitude transmission line. This kind of clamp require high anti-corona ability. Typically, the componetns of the anti-corona type includes a flared hull, two (or four) bolts (to fasten the boat hull) and the steel hoop of the suspension part in the middle of the hull, which also known as the suspension bar type.
Materials: clamp and plate—aluminum alloy; deadend link—stainless steel; spare parts–steel
This type of anti-corona suspension clip is divided into two types: line and jumper. The jumper one also can use on substation and has weak grip.
